New Orleans Wine and Food Experience

Wine and food really are an “experience” in New Orleans, and this aptly named annual festival brings the pair together in one mega event Memorial Day weekend. From May 25 – 28, you’ll be treated to a number of special events starting with an intimate wine dinner May 25th at 7 p.m. at a number of premium restaurants. Make new friends, and get treated to wine/food pairings from local chefs and vintners. Different wineries are showcased at each restaurant.

Vinola! is a hallmark of the festival, where wine connoisseurs who really appreciate their vino come together to sample some of the best and rarest wines in the world. Every bottle retails for a minimum of $75, and here you’ll discover some of the most elite wines available. Paired with restaurants for samplings, it’s an upscale event you’ll never forget.

Eat, Drink and Treat Yourself

The Big Gateaux Show on Saturday is the ultimate pastry showdown where pastries, cocktails and burlesque performances come together. Hosted by Trixie Minx and Bella Blue, it’s the Saturday night after party following the grand tasting. With $5,000 on the line for competitors, as an attendee you’re treated to bottle service, photos with the performers, reserved seating, the ability to vote in the people’s choice awards, and a special tasting box.

Seminars, workshops and lectures season the weekend, while the Royal Street Stroll on Friday brings you together with fellow foodies. However, the Grand Tasting on Saturday is the real showstopper. With over 1,000 vintages paired with delectable foods, and featuring over 25 of the best restaurants in town, it’s a true gastro journey.
