May 19 – 21 marks one of the most beloved annual festivals in New Orleans! Part massive music festival, gastro experience, arts and crafts market, recreation, and pure family-friendly fun, it’s a long weekend of every kind of revelry you can imagine. For local residents, it’s a much-needed follow-up to Mardi Gras and the perfect way to welcome summer.
Artists flock to the area to showcase their work along Bayou St. John, where you’ll find premium, regional crafts and handmade art from creatives working in glass, photography, mixed media, pottery, metal and more. Find gorgeous jewelry at over 60 vendor booths.
A foodie paradise, you’ll need to plan your stops wisely to partake in all the delicacies you have on your list. Try the alligator wrap with crab sauce at 4 of Us, the cracklins at Boucherie, super nachos at Felipe’s Mexican Taqueria and the rum pralines at Loretta’s Authentic Pralines for dessert.
To work off some of those indulgences, there are plenty of recreation options available, too! Try your hand at the annual paddle boat races, check out the pop-up hoop jam, or join the bicycle pub crawl where there are plenty of boozy stops on your cycle-journey. Every year brings more “boo” to the bayou!
